For the permanent solution of the water problem, the involvement of the people, their cooperation, their consciousness and their willpower are very important for the implementation of a large water storage scheme like the collective check dam scheme. Various public awareness programs have been organized. Due to its very positive impact, water harvesting has accelerated in village after village in Saurashtra and more and more people are coming forward to implement this scheme. In the last thirteen years, many such large programs have been organized by the trust at its own expense without any help from the government.

Village meetings :

The far hinterlands of Saurashtra The President of Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust along with other trustees has visited the villages where there was lack of public awareness about rainwater harvesting. Till date 3200 villages have been visited and Gram Sabhas have been held in them. Villagers have been encouraged to decide for a water harvesting scheme. Encouraged to increase their financial as well as labor contribution. Explained to solve the social or political problems arising in any village, helped in the work ritual to get financial assistance from the government which also helped to collect contribution from the rich merchants of that village. Among remaining villages, 3 lakh members of Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust, who live in Surat and are natives of Saurashtra, have held gram sabhas in their villages and made efforts to conduct water harvesting campaigns and are making more efforts.

padyatras :

Bhadrod  from Bhimdad  padyatras : The amazing success achieved in Khopala village is due to the strong desire and noble spirit to reach out to the people under the auspices of Shri Mathurbhai Savani Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust covering 9 talukas of Bhavnagar district from Bhimdad village of Garhda taluka to Bhadrod village of Mahuva taluka during 14-11-1999 to 19-11-1999. A walk was planned. This walk was flagged off by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Mr. Dhirubhai Shah from Bhimdad. 300 diamond industry leaders from Mumbai, Surat and Bhavnagar and a number of local leaders joined the walk. Several dignitaries attended the night stay programs of the padayatra and appealed to the people to adopt the check dam scheme. This padayatra has been considered as the most important historical padayatra after the Dandiyatra done by Gandhiji, a revolutionary saint of the modern era. Through this padayatra, the trust directly contacted a number of people of 42 villages of 9 talukas of Bhavnagar district and encouraged them to adopt water harvesting scheme. During this entire padayatra, the enthusiasm with which the villagers of all castes welcomed the walkers from those villages through which the padayatra passed is indescribable. The fatigue felt by the pedestrians would be relieved by seeing the greetings everywhere as if an expensive guest had arrived and the enthusiasm that was overflowing in the hearts of the young children to the elderly. Even the villagers understood that this was a rare journey. Mathurbhai, forgetting his tiredness, was presenting the feelings of the heart to the people with such enthusiasm that the people did not get tired of caring. Mathurbhai used to explain in simple language what the passionate pundits could not accept, reaching the hearts of the people and finally concluding the meeting by making them resolve to do check dam. It was a grand procession from village to village.

 Talgajarda to Porbandar padyatras :             With the efforts of Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust, the Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust has launched a        public awareness campaign on water harvesting with an aim to further accelerate and expand its coverage.18/11/2011 to take the message of using scientific irrigation method. Until 02/12/2001, Vishwavandaniyya Sant Shri Poo. 350 km covering five districts of Saurashtra from Moraribapu’s birthplace Talgajarda (G.Bhavnagar) to Pujya Gandhi Bapu’s birthplace Porbandar. A walk was held. In the departure ceremony of this journey, Pu. Shri Morari Bapu gave blessings and even came to see the pilgrims till the border of Talgajarda. More than 1500 members of the water conservation committee of the village, who have earned the right to tell others by completing the water conservation work in their village in the last 3 years, participated in this yatra. Among the 72 villages along the route of the yatra, a large number of men, women and children of the entire village attended the meeting of the village. They accepted the message and accepted the water storage. A large number of 5,000 to 1,000 people attended the overnight stay program of the Yatra, who were persuaded to adopt the water harvesting scheme. In this way, during the entire walk, the trust contacted a number of people directly and explained the water storage scheme to them, encouraging them and providing them with guidance. The response was similar to the overwhelming response received in the next padayatra. Due to the enthusiasm shown by the people, the fatigue of Mathurbhai Padayatra was reduced and the enthusiasm continued to increase.
Conventions :

–First Historical Congress at Surat:   Saurashtra, Kutch And the people of the villages of North Gujarat who live in Surat occasionally help in the works of their village and the villagers can understand their words soon, these people have the intention of reaching the Jalsanchaya Mahayajna to their village. A grand convention was organized on 25/03/2000 by the Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust. Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Keshubhai Patel, Union Apparel Minister Mr. Kashiram Rana, Ministers of Gujarat State, cricketers Mr. Rajesh Chauhan and Sameer Didhe etc. were present in this general meeting of the Trust. Three lakh people originally settled in Saurashtra and Surat of Kutch were present in these conventions and they resolved to take the message of implementation of check dam scheme to their villages. It was the first time in the history of India that such a large number of people had come together to solve the water crisis.

– General Assembly in Gadhada :   Under the auspices of the Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust, Gadhada of Bhavnagar District dated 29/03/20 A Water Reservoir Convention was held on 00 In which the president of the trust Mr. Mathurbhai Savani gave simple guidance and information about the water storage scheme to the large number of farmers, women, men and youth present. Apart from this, Reverend Santshri Morari Bapu, who was present, did not put ghee in the yajnakund of the Mahayajna as a water reservoir, but the sweat and vision of the people of the village, that checkdam is a very important yajnakund. Not only that, he was given a call saying “I would prefer to bathe in the check dam first before bathing in the Kumbh Mela”. 25000 people attended this convention.

 

Five district level public awareness conferences : Due to the wide success of Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust’s water harvesting campaign, this campaign will advance in more and more areas of Gujarat and more and more people of Gujarat will join this campaign and adopt water harvesting work by Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust. 01/11/2000 to During 06/11/2000 public awareness conferences were held in five districts namely Bhavnagar, Amreli, Jamnagar, Surendranagar and Banaskatha in North Gujarat. In which Shri Rajendrasih, winner of Magsaysay award in the field of water storage of Rajasthan and prominent social worker of Maharashtra Mr. Anna Hazare and other dignitaries and present people were present in the general meeting of each district.

– Jalkranti Award and Jalabhishek ceremony at Vikaliya village :   Water Reservoir Scheme On 19/08/2001 under the auspices of Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust, the program of “Jalkranti Award and Jalabhishek Samaroh” was held at Vikalia (District Bhavnagar) among the various programs to promote small. Inspired by Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust’s water harvesting campaign, “Water Crisis Prevention Award” to 125 villages in which check dam schemes have been effective in water harvesting and inspiring other villages, “Jalkranti Mahaprerak Award” to Rajasamdhiyala and Khopala village who planted the seeds of a successful collective check dam scheme in Saurashtra “Selfless Helper Karmaveer Award” to leading diamond industrialists who provided financial assistance and encouragement to the villagers for the projects to be done and the water crisis to be removed and a foreign based patriot who selflessly helped many villages and Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust with the aim of making Gujarat’s village green and prosperous through water harvesting schemes. Rajeshbhai Vrajlalbhai Mehta was encouraged by being awarded the “Selfless Best Helper Award” by the hand of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Keshubhai Patel and the honor letter by the holy hand of Pujyashri Moraribapu. In this award distribution ceremony, approximately one lakh people from all the districts of Saurashtra attended. Everyone enjoyed the unique achievement on everyone’s face. Bhagirath was the satisfaction of success achieved through collective efforts and the enthusiasm to do something more. Pujaya Sant Sri Moraribapu performed Jalabhisheka of Thakorji with the water of the lots given by the village from the check dam of the village. Bathed in the check dam as per the call given at Gardakh. Pujya Moraribapu gave special importance to his bathing in the check dam of Vikaliya than bathing in Bhushandi lake, the highest lake in the world.

– Second Watershed Water-Conservation Congress at Surat :   saurastra jaldhara trust organized the second convention at Surat on 7/2/2003 as a part of water harvesting and water conservation campaign. The convention was organized with the aim of accelerating the campaign of water harvesting and water conservation in South Gujarat as well. In this Mahasamelana, the ardent Ramayana narrator Pujyashri Moraribapu and Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi were present and gave guidance on water storage and water conservation. Apart from this, Union Apparel Minister Shrikashiram Rana, Ministers of Gujarat State and political and social dignitaries of South Gujarat were present in this convention. Lakhs of people attended this convention, which Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi encouraged people to carry out more water harvesting work throughout Gujarat.

– Reservoir Water-Conservation Guidance Camp at Krishnagarh : On 3/11/2003, Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust organized a Water Reservoir Water Conservation Guidance Camp at Krishnagarh of Lathi Taluk. Village committee members of 975 villages participated in this camp to carry out effective water harvesting campaign in their village. Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Union Rural Development Minister Shri Kashiram Rana, Gujarat State Water Supply Minister Shri Narottambhai Patel, Agriculture Minister Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Gujarat State Irrigation Department Secretary Shri MS Patel besides other dignitaries working in the water sector were present in this guidance camp. Guidance was provided. The people present in this camp were guided about the maintenance of check dams and lakes, to carry forward the works of check dams on major rivers with the help of Saurashtra Jaldhara Trust, to stop the stagnant water from going down into deep ditches, to use the stagnant water scientifically, to carry forward the work of environment preservation and tree plantation.

Saurashtra Narmada Water Release Public-Awareness Mahayajna

The Water Conservation – Water Conservation Maha Abhiyan has been going ahead with everyone’s efforts for the last 15 years. We all know that it has got very good results, but the permanent solution to Saurashtra’s soil water was included in the following five points of action which were as follows:

1. reservoir,

2. Cultivation with drip irrigation system in every field,

3. Discharge of useless bore,

4. Narmada water in Saurashtra,

5. Kalpsar scheme.

Above A special program “Saurashtra Narmada Jal Avataran Janjagriti Mahayagya” was organized keeping in view the following five points. The Mahayagna was aimed at bringing a special public awareness about water by connecting 4800 villages and towns of Saurashtra. In which farmers maintain rainwater catchment vessels, water storage works are implemented in the remaining villages, tree planting and preservation are done, every field is cultivated with drip irrigation system and special public awareness is brought about it.

Sarkarshree has planned to fill 115 dams and rivers with Narmada water. The name of this plan is All Plan. With this program, everyone got the special knowledge of this scheme and an environment was created to complete the scheme within the stipulated time.

saurastra Narmada Jal Avataran Jan Jaguri Mahayajna was organized on Sunday 5-5-2013 at Devla Gomi Bhadar Dam stretch of Gondal Taluka. The outline of the program was prepared keeping in mind the special awareness of all the above issues, the yajna was organized at the program place, the yagya mantras were kept specially different like 1. May the decisive people get the strength to raise the gates of Narmada dam early Oum Swa Ha……… Such different types of mantras were chanted. As the aim was to connect all the villages of Saurashtra, one kalash was given in each taluka, in that kalash the lakes and rivers of all the villages of each taluka were chanted. Soil and Sindur of Hanumanji Maharaj of the village were collected from Surat along with a number of motorcars. The Yatra took Narmada water and reached the venue of the event. A huge statue of Hanumanji Maharaj was installed on the venue. 4800 villages And the people of the towns joined in large numbers. Out of 4800 villages of Saurashtra, people of 4000 villages live in Surat. The yajna planning committee of 10,000 people was formed by the two representatives and the main leaders of all the villages living in Surat. A village committee of 11 people was formed in Tamam villages of Saurashtra by 10,000 leaders living in Surat. 55,000 leaders were employed together with all the taluka leaders and village committee leaders. This yajna for water was a divine act. This work got a lot of support from all the villages. And the program was successful
